The Joys of Life

We've been busier than ever these past couple of weeks - Isla is just getting hilarious by the day! We've enjoyed all there is down here in SLC -  Cheesecake, the indoor kids swimming/wade pool, and new friends!

Sometimes I can't get over my blue-eyed baby girl!

The picture above is just precious, it's Boss and I holding hands, we just got swimming at the most amazing kiddo/wading pool in Cottonwood Heights - Isla just loved it so much, I wish I could of gotten pictures of her going down the Toad Slide, and just floating around.

We also started up swimming lessons again - she just loves the water!

Turns out we live very close to an old friend - Christina Mc Cann (now Shaw). We met so long ago in 3rd grade in Mrs. Theurer's class @ Providence Elementary. Well I ran into her at Gold's Gym about a year ago, and she randomly called up to ask if I could watch her adorable kiddos! So Isla has made some great friends that are so nice to her.

They LOVE drawing with the chalk outside - but they love to scrub it even more. They spend more time scrubbing than drawing - it's so cute to watch them!

And a recent picture of Ryan, courtesy of Elder Peterson's (on the left) blog! Ryan is just doing amazing, his growth through the MTC is just extraordinary! We're down to less than a month for him to depart to South Korea!

Our Weekend Getaway!

One of Micah's old companions from el mision, Adam White, invited us up at their amazing family cabin in Oakley, UT. I didn't realize that it was a CABIN. meaning you snowmobile in, that's how serious this family was about getting off "the grid" and snowmobiling!

Sunday we woke up to 8" of snow! It was beautiful, and Isla finally got to experience Winter!

She loved the snowmobile, and was sad that she couldn't drive it herself.

Adam, Amy & daughter Sophie (which is sooo cute - such the cutest voice!)

Babes in snowsuits are the cutest. I think it's because they just can't move.

Our purple snow monsters:

Isla's first time sledding in the snow! Such a fun experience!

Valentine's Day 2012

Happy love day!! We had an amazing one filled with lots of loves and gifts for Isla ;)

Here's how she says CHEESE lately:

She's used to the camera flash, so when we ask her to say CHEESE, she blinks her eyes and smiles.

Our Boston is back and we've had tons of fun playing with him!! So we had a tent day with pillows, and Isla got to stay in her pajamas - only because mommy was a little lazy that day...

We've been toting our Pooh-Bear around because Uncle Poo-Bear called her first as his Valentine. So we made sure that we had our Pooh-Bear everywhere we went.

Aren't her little jeans the cutest??? I love babes in jeans.

Our great friends the Webbs came by. I should of had them re-create the whole scene. I opened the door to Devon holding this little rose, and Lindsey said that Devon wanted to know if Isla could be his Valentine. Awwww. He gave her this rose, some jelly candy, and a cute frog prince that made smoochie sounds!

Isla gave him some kisses! Thanks Devon!!

Valentine's Day with our Pooh-Bear in tow!

Soooo exhausted. I just love when they fall asleep in the carseat!

Isla's haul from Valentine's Day - she is just so loved!

Micah made sure I had a little something -
 :)

We also had a great dinner at Johnny Carino's and lots of great conversations about everything - it's surprising at how much we can talk about when the baby girl isn't around capturing all our attention! So thanks to my Valentine, love you!!

And we ended the day with our first Sharpie incident on the couch....it was all my fault since I left all the markers out. I'm surprised at how fast it takes for her to leave her mark!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh Pinterest...

Pinterest is going to cause me some marital strife. I think the hubby is going to create "Husband's Against Pinterest" - Ha ha.

We've been busy crafting away. I was so excited when I saw a magnetic makeup board, I made a few adjustments. I found this 18x18 folded metal sheet @ The Wood Connection in Murray, UT. Went to the craft store and picked up some magnets & ribbon, and then to Dollar Tree to grab these metal pencil holders.

I used my cricut to cut the "Makeup" or is it "Make-up"??

For added strength I stuck some 3M velcro sticky-things on the back.

I decided to use my E-6000 because I wasn't too sure about hot glue and my "precious" makeup falling off.

Micah has REALLY enjoyed making this leaning wall shelf from ana-white.com (NoT) ha ha but it's turned out beautiful. Just finishing the painting now.

I'm finally getting around to putting a wreath on our door...

Deep breaths on these suckers...painted curtains. I have to pull them down and re-tape and paint them. The "touch-up" spots are just hideous. But...it takes a lot of patience so I decided to take a break from doing this for a week. I still have another pair to do for the other window.

And of course our baby girl...this is basically what we find everytime we go to get her from her crib...she somehow gets her hair out of those tiny little plastic holders. Just beautiful.
